Project Background and Current Status
In 2006, after analyzing wind data from various potential sites in the country,
with the assistance of EMD of Denmark and group of local engineers, ABIC
prepared a feasibility study on Totkabon site which led to obtaining wind farm
development license from the Ministry of Power in Iran. The feasibility study
was carried out for a 9 MW wind farm project which will be developed in
various phases.
As of December 20th 2008, the following have been concluded:

As of December 20th 2008, the following have been concluded:
- Technical and financial feasibility study
- Ministry of Power wind farm development license
- Approval for connection to the national grid
- Approval of Iran’s Environmental Protection Agency
- Approval from Iran’s forestry and Natural Resources Agency
- Signing of the Power Purchase Agreement
- Negotiation and short listing wind turbine and other auxiliary
equipment vendors
